Things to Do For Kids in Seattle

If your child is looking for something to do while on a trip to Seattle, there are several things they can enjoy. These activities include Kelsey Creek Farm, the Fremont Troll, and the Museum of Pop Culture. Kids can also experience the Seattle Children’s Theatre. Read our article for more information.

Kelsey Creek Farm

When you’re looking for fun places to take your kids in Seattle, you’ll want to visit Kelsey Creek Farm. It’s an actual farm that’s open seven days a week. The farm has a playground, picnic tables, and a barnyard. The farm also offers a pen pal program for children and the opportunity to see farm animals up close.

Kids will enjoy the pony rides and fun crafts at Kelsey Creek Farm. There’s also a letter-writing program where they can write a letter to a farm animal and receive a letter in return. The farm will mail them a letter containing a photograph of their animal and a self addressed envelope. You can send one or two letters to the animals and they will respond in writing.

Fremont Troll

The Fremont Troll is a sculpture that has become a Seattle landmark, and he’s a fun place to climb and see the city. The Fremont Arts Council held a contest to create it. They wanted to improve the area below the bridge which had become a drug den or dumping ground. The 18-foot tall troll can be viewed and climbed at no cost. You can also have a cold beer at Fremont’s nearby brewery.

There’s also the troll statue near the Aurora Bridge. This sculpture, measuring 18 feet, resembles a Norwegian folklore hero and stands next to a Volkswagen Beetle. The statue weighs more than 13,000 pounds and is made from concrete, steel rebar and wire. It once featured a bust of Elvis Presley, but that was sadly stolen by vandals.

Museum of Pop Culture

Take your kids to the Museum of Pop Culture if you’re looking for things to do in Seattle with them. This fun museum is located near downtown Seattle, and it is a great place for kids to learn about popular culture. Its exhibits include music, movies, television, and video games. The Museum of Pop Culture also has many rotating exhibits.

This museum has exhibits that are suitable for all ages. It is recommended that you spend at least two hours exploring this museum. There are many interactive exhibits that will be of interest to children of all ages. Visitors who brought their children here reported that they had a great experience.

Seattle Children’s Theatre

The Seattle Children’s Theatre, a local resident theatre for children, is an example of a local resident theatre. This nonprofit company was founded in 1975 and performs in two theatres located at the Seattle Center. The main theatre holds about 482 seats, and the second theatre holds 275 seats. The theatre also has a drama school and summer performances for children.

The theatre was originally known as Poncho Children’s Theatre in its early years. However, it was legally renamed Seattle Children’s Theatre when it became legal. The theatre’s offerings at the time included classics of American literature, fairy tales, and adventure tales. Its first plays included The Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland.
